Text: “Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.” – Hebrews 3:12,13.

Comment:  The salvation of God that would come to His faithful worshippers here on earth must be built on unflinching faith in Him till the end. It is to this end that Jesus Christ our Lord and Master counselled his followers that, “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” – Matthew 24:12,13.

The devil sometimes afflicts sincere worshippers of God with varied problems of unemployment, childlessness, starvation, finding a life partner, anxiety, street crimes, homelessness, unnecessary migrations, kidnapping, armed robberies, insecurity, communal clashes, arson and many more to weaken their resolve to serve the Living God like he tried in vain to deceive Job, the prophet of God.

Apostle Peter reminded true believers thus: “Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.” (2 Peter 3:17).  Earlier he admonished: “Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:  For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. – 2 Peter 1:10, 11.
