Theme: ABIDING IN THE SECRET PLACE OF THE MOST HIGH

Text: “The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.” – Nahum 1:7.

Comment: In Matthew 19:17, Jesus Christ attributed goodness to his Father.  Mankind in general, believers and non believers alike, are evidence of God’s goodness (Matthew 5:45).  God’s goodness on His people is to the end that they should reciprocate by doing His will.  St. Paul in one of his epistles to the believers at Rome, brought to their consideration that the goodness of God leads to repentance (Romans 2:4;  Psalm 116:2).  Instances abound in the Scriptures, how the Almighty Father shows himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.”  He dwells in Mount Zion above, but offers divine protection on His children who put their trust in Him.  He said: “… call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.” – Psalm 50:15; Jeremiah 29:12.

Since the words of God can be trusted, (Isaiah 34:16) it behoves us to be unflinching in the confidence we have in Him who has promised neither to leave nor forsake us.  God cannot be mocked.  He alone sees the heart and understands the depth and sincerity of our trust in Him. (Isaiah 26:7).  Those who trust in the almightiness of God shall realize that “in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.” – Isaiah 26:4.
