Theme: ABIDING IN THE SECRET PLACE OF THE MOST HIGH
Text: “The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.” – Psalm 145:18.
Comment: The Most High manifests His presence (by ways of protection, guidance, providence, miraculous acts of deliverance, healing, etc) to those who desire Him. One should also be fervent in prayer. The term “see” as used in Job 33:26 is in reference to enjoying divine benefits from above. Above all, one must be in the true way, God’s holy mountain, where He promises to accept us, and our services. – Ezekiel 20:40.
The emphasis therefore is on the truth. Jesus Christ made it clear that the Father takes delight in those who “worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:23, 24) True worship has nothing to do with numerical strength of an organization, (Deuteronomy 7:7; Matthew 18:20), flamboyancy of worship style, (1 Corinthians 14:33,40), popularity based on financial power of the organization, or of other mundane standards (Luke 16:15). It is evident in the light of the above that it is a big favour for one to know God in truth, and reciprocate such privilege by manifesting the fruits of the spirit (Psalm 33:12; Galatians 5:22-25). The psalmist wrote: “Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.” – Psalm 91:14-16.
