Theme:
SERVING GOD IN SINCERITY AND IN TRUTH

Text: “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers; Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well.” – 3 John 1:4-6.

Comment: Apostle John in the citation for today exhorted us that in whatever thing we do we should be faithful, honest, plain and straight forward: Our yes should be yes and our no, no. – Matthew 5:37.

It is unfortunate that a number of times those who claim to be Christians are not able to do business together as such businesses flop within a short time. This is no doubt due to insincerity from one of the partners or both of them. Some who have borrowed money fail to return the money or end up insisting on a different version of the conditions or terms the loan was given. There are those who fail to pay those who are working for them. Some who do, do not pay reasonable amounts but starvation wages. (Leviticus 19:13; Jeremiah 22:13) We must always strive to practicalise the principle of doing to others as we would want others to do to us, (Matthew 6:31; Luke 6:31) Apostle Paul stated: “Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:1,2,6,
