Theme: THE REWARD OF FAITH

Text: “Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised”. – Hebrews 11:11.

Comment:  Abraham and Sarah were in the “unknown land” when the LORD fulfilled His promise of making Abraham a great nation. Sarah, Abraham’s wife played a significant role as the angel told Abraham: “I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.” – Genesis 18:10.

Even though they have past their reproductive years yet they “being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.” “And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, (old and without strength) when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness (numbness) of Sara’s womb.” – Romans 4:19.

In executing His will, age and time aggregates mean nothing to the Almighty God.  Rachel was childless for a long period like Sarah but in God’s due time, they gave suck to children. (Genesis 30:1-7; 30:22-24). Couples waiting on the LORD should not despair as “He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children.” – Psalm 113:9.
