Theme: SERVING GOD IN SINCERITY AND IN TRUTH

Text: “For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.” – John 6:38.

Comment: God’s Organization is set up by Him to serve as a City of Refuge for all people of goodwill. It does not belong to anybody. It is owned by God Almighty Who has the unquestionable prerogative to administer the Church as He pleases through Jesus Christ our Saviour. The interpretation of the vision by Daniel the prophet on the setting up of the Kingdom on earth says that once it is set up it “shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever”. (Daniel 2:44) It is therefore sheer vanity fair to think that one’s opinion or ambition or desire must stand when it is clearly contrary to the will of God. See John 5:30; Matthew 26:39, 42.  People of God concern themselves only with those things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. (Philippians 4:8) We must not lean to our own understanding in doing the work of God, else we shall be working at cross-purposes and not be able to do the work with sincerity. King Solomon says, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.” – Proverbs 3:5-7. See also 2 Peter 2:10;
