Text: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” – Galatians 5:22,23.
Comment: In our quest for salvation, certain uncompromising qualities which Apostle Paul termed “fruit of the Spirit” are expected from all sincere worshippers of the Almighty Father. One of such qualities is faith or absolute belief in Him. Like the patriarch Abraham, the father of the faithful, “he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness”. – Genesis 15:6.
Pharaoh, the Gentile King of Egypt in utter disregard for God asked: “Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD….” (Exodus 5:2). The wicked will say unto God, “Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways. What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?” – Job 21:14,15.
The Psalmist under God’s inspiration wrote: “The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.” (Psalm 10:4). The Holy Scripture states: “Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us? – Isaiah 29:15.
Faith in God, besides other fruits of the spirit are essential in the race of salvation and those who are exercised thereby shall be saved by the grace of God.
