Theme: MAINTAINING GOOD WORKS

Text: “Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed; I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids, Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.” – Psalm 132:3-5.

Comment: After the completion of his palace, David’s next move was to build a befitting place of worship for God. This earned him God’s commendation. Notwithstanding, the intended project did not gain God’s approval. Even at that, David proceeded to make sufficient provision of materials for the intended edifice. So committed was the king to this course as manifest in his declaration in today’s devotional. Earlier, in 1 Chronicles 22:5, he had given the reason behind his intention. Today, there are similar instances of individuals who have embarked on such noble projects. This is highly commendable in the Lord. God will bless all such ones abundantly by His grace. – See Hebrews 6:9-11.
