Theme: OVERCOMING BEHAVIOURAL DISORDER
Text: “Thou shalt not steal.” – Exodus 20:15
Comment: Stealing belongs to the behaviour disorder type called Conduct Disorder (CD). Some develop the act of stealing from a very tender age when they secretly take things from their play friends without been sharply corrected or chastised. Such children grow to become armed robbers, cheats, fraudsters, etc., engaging in crimes and running away from the law. When such persons are apprehended, they are imprisoned, given jungle justice or death by firing squad, etc., besides God’s punishment of not entering His Kingdom. (1 Corinthians 6:9, 10) Parents should be observant to ensure that children who develop this unwholesome act are promptly punished (to also serve as deterrent to others) and counselled to enable them discontinue such forthwith by God’s grace. – Proverbs 23:13, 14; 19:18, 25; Ephesians 4:28
