Text: “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” – Psalm 27:13.
Comment: The pressures of life are worsened by the supposed effect of time. Man is by nature apparently conscious of time. It brings anxiety and impatience. In praying to God we should always remember that God is the Creator of time. Hence there is need for us to be patient and wait on Him to grant us our request in His own due time. King David said he made up his mind to wait on God. This also applies to us, who are true worshippers of God in this age of the end of the world. “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. (Psalm 27:14) King Saul could not wait for Samuel, hence he forced himself to offer burnt offerings to God. He was indeed punished for his impatience. “And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever. But now thy kingdom shall not continue…” – 1 Samuel 13:13, 14.
