Theme: IT SHALL BE WELL WITH THE RIGHTEOUS

Text: “Wherein ye greatly rejoice though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.” – 1 Peter 1:6-8.

Comment: Examples abound in the scriptures of people who did not compromise their faith in God’s service which is an act of righteousness. In the end, they were blessed by God and assured of salvation by His grace. A case in point is St. Paul who was subjected to series of persecutions. Instead of terminating the work, he continued the work of God the more, convincing people of goodwill that he was not doing the work for his own personal glory. At the end he declared: “For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the LORD, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day…” – 2 Timothy 4:6-8.
