Theme: THE SIGNIFICANCE OF A GOOD PERSONAL IDENTITY

Text: “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” “See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.” – Jeremiah 1:5, 10.

Comment: True prophets of God are rare breed humans, with special gifts and holy before God, chosen and commissioned by the Almighty Father. (Isaiah 49:1, 5; Galatians 1:15; Hebrews 1:1, 2) They speak the mind of God and exude an imposing stature: their names are terror to evil rulers, kings, the high-and-mighty in society. The world hardly reckons with them because they are neither found in palaces, nor clothed with special clothes (Matthew 11:7-11); they live secluded lives as men of low estate, yet very great. John-the-Baptist, the fore-runner of Jesus Christ “had his raiment of camel’s hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.” (Matthew 3:3, 4; Mark 1:6) People should beware of what they say about the prophets of God. At the pronouncement of a curse by Prophet Elisha, two female bears came out of the woods and killed forty-two children for deriding him unjustly. – 2 Kings 2:23, 24.
