Theme: DEALING WITH OUR DOUBTS AND FEARS

Text: “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?”  – Psalm 118:6.

Comment: A rather unfortunate fact of life is that there are those who do not wish the people of God well. A worshipper of God should ensure that his hands and hearts are clean. Then, he should leave the battle to God. – Acts 24:15.

Some are even persecuted because of the work of God they stand for, as seen from the story of the Daniel who was thrown into the lions’ den, but God delivered him. When, on getting early in the day to the den of lions, the king asked after the wellbeing of Daniel, he replied, “O king, live for ever. My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.”

The king was “exceeding glad for him”, and commanded that they should bring Daniel out of the den. No manner of hurt was found upon him, “because he believed in his God”. But when, at the King’s command, men who had accused Daniel, and they were cast into the lions’ den, they were promptly devoured. – Daniel 6: 19-24.

King David said “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”  – Psalm 27:1.
