Theme: Casting All Our Burden On The Lord

Text: “Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.” – Jeremiah 33:6.

Comment: Health challenge is a major problem and source of worry in the world. No one is totally immune from sicknesses and diseases. Some health problems have made some bed-ridden at home, or to be on admission in the hospital for days running into weeks and even months causing no small emotional pain to the sick person as well as his/her family member. Some health problems have no cure hence amplifying the anxiety and apprehension when a family member is diagnosed with such incurable and terminal ailments. Compare Matthew 17:21. Jesus Christ assures us: “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me”. (John 14:1) Jesus Christ is the one through whom God will grant healing to His people. He exhibited this in a miniature way in the many instances of people he healed of various illnesses and diseases. Matt 4:23-24.

When King Hezekiah was sick, he cried to God for cure and God healed him. (2 Kings 20:1-7) Like Jeremiah the Prophet, we should believe in the power of God to heal us as he himself expressed: “Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise”. (Jeremiah 17:14) Therefore, regardless of the effort of medical personnel at treatment, healing comes ultimately from God Almighty Whom we should look to when sick. – Psalm 103:1-3.
