Theme: MEEKNESS IN GOD’S SERVICE

Text: “The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.” – Psalm 22:26

Comment: A Christian is one who is meek, meaning, one who submits himself to God’s guidance in his day to day affairs. There are two ways in handling any situation: the way of God and the way of man. The way of God can be demanding in the sense that it calls for self control, a humble spirit, a listening ear and may appear to be slow. The way of man is most times decisive, impulse-driven, impatient, self willed and fast. Experience has shown that the way of God gives the fruitful result of peace at the end while the way of man leads to regrets and the prolongation of issues.

King Solomon the wisest of His days said “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones” (Proverbs 3:5-8) Again, the Bible says in Psalm 37:3-5 “Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.  Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday”.
