Theme: WORKING OUT OUR SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING

Text: “The soul that sinneth it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.” – Ezekiel 18:20

Comment: The time has come for men to know of God’s impartial judgment. To the good, immeasurable blessings will be offered as their reward but evil shall be the lot of those who do not fear before Him. (Romans 2:2-11; 11:20-22) The Almighty God said, “Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings”. (Isaiah 3:10) What should be understood is the fact that the salvation of everyone is in his own hands hence we are admonished to work out our own salvation “with far and trembling.” – Philippians 2:12. See also Romans 2:6-9.

The Holy Scriptures say: ”Consider the man who is righteous and does what is just and right… Such a man is righteous: he shall live, says the Lord” The passage states further that if this righteous man begets a son who “has committed all those abomination(s) he shall die and his blood shall be on his head”. (Ezekiel 18:5-17, New English Bible. See also Ezekiel 14:13-20). In his revelation through Apostle John, Jesus Christ stated: “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And behold, I come quickly, and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be” – Revelation 22:11,12.
