Theme: BE YE CIRCUMSPECT
Text: “Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.” – Matthew 16:6.
Comment: During his first advent on earth, Jesus Christ did not fail to warn his disciples against doctrines or teachings that can impede their spiritual life. This is also vital in this last day as the counterparts of the Pharisees and Sadducees are so many. (Matthew 24:11, 24, 25) Seekers-after-truth and righteousness are to be vigilant, careful so as not to corrupt themselves with the dishonesty, hypocrisy, etc., which were typical of the Pharisees and Sadducees. (Matthew 6:2, 5, 16) Apostle Paul said: “Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.” – 2 Corinthians 4:1, 2.
