Text: “…Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.” – Exodus 14:12-14.
Comment: Leaders must have implicit faith, courage and strong-will as they will face various tough challenges which are capable of confusing or weakening the spirit of some. (Proverbs 24:10) When the Egyptians were pursuing the Israelites, many of them panicked and spoke roughly to Moses their leader. But he, with strong faith in God assured them of the ever-present providence of God as is in the text for today. A leader should be able to rise above temporary setbacks, should be able to see beyond the present moments, and by virtue of his faith in God, not be destabilized or disoriented by the fears, panic that overtake many when there is an emergency. It is the leader’s faith in God that will enable him to stand to exhort others in the hour of temptation. – 2 Corinthians 3:5.
