Theme: FAITH: A WEAPON OF DEFENCE

Text: “…So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God”. – Daniel 6:23.

Comment: Before our prayers can be answered by God, there must be an element of genuine faith. Our Lord and Saviour declared in Matthew 21:22.” And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive” And James the Apostle re-echoed. “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering…” (James 1:6). Daniel, a young man, was carried as a captive to Babylon. Under king Darius of the Medes and Persians, his colleagues out of jealousy plotted to eliminate him. He was tenacious, holding tightly to his faith and allegiance to God Almighty. For this, he was cast into the den of lions. Faith as a weapon of defence did not disappoint Daniel. He was miraculously protected from the powerful jaws of the lions. And this was acknowledged by the king. The king ordered that he be lifted out of the den. “So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because HE BELIEVED IN HIS GOD” Verse 23.
