Theme: LORD, WHO SHALL ABIDE IN THY TABERNACLES?

Text:“Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.” – Romans 14:19.

Comment: In John 13:34, 35, our Lord Jesus Christ highlights love as an identity and hallmark for true discipleship. We manifest this virtue of love to others when we discipline ourselves from doing to others such things that would offend us. (Matthew 7:12) In Psalm 133:1, it is written: “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” It is evident therefore, that, good neighbourliness, peaceful coexistence, are essentials, and should be promoted, if we seek to abide in God’s organization, as it is often said: “There is strength in unity”. The Psalmist renders it thus: “Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.” (Psalm 84:4, 7) To those who insist on the contrary by hurting and dealing treacherously against others, Isaiah the prophet under inspiration, pronounces “woe” on them, in that they set themselves in danger of God’s judgement. – Isaiah 33:1
