Text: “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint” – Luke 18:1.
Comment: Loosing hope because over time a particular prayer has not been answered makes some to stop praying and therefore deny themselves the grace of their prayers being answered. Jesus Christ declared: “And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:7, 8) St Paul advised us: “Pray without ceasing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17) Furthermore, King David said: “Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” – Psalms 55:17, 22.
