Theme: THE DANGER OF INTERFAITH

Text: “Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD… Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out His hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is helped, shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.” – Isaiah 31:1-3.

Comment: As worshippers of God, we should look to God our author of salvation. We should not strongly attach ourselves to outward means to solve our problems. If we have spiritual problems, health issues, financial difficulties, marital problems, we should seek remedies in lawful ways that God will not disapprove. We should not be involved in occultism, spiritism, consulting oracles, looking to the dead or seeking solutions from false prophets who have no solution to our problems. (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). The “Egyptians” (false prophets, idols, deities) are not God but men or representatives of the devil and their “horses” are flesh, not spirits. The greater strength, help and protection is in the power of God for He is able when He stretches forth His hand to save. (Jeremiah 32:27,17;  Isaiah 12:2;  44:6) Associating with “Egypt” is interfaith and leads one to bitterness, regret, disappointment, tragedies, separation from God and makes one vulnerable to attacks of the tempter. – Hebrews 10:38,39.
