Text: “Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see, therefore your sin remaineth.” – John 9:41.
Comment: There have been so many books written that promote erroneous beliefs. Apostle Paul even said that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. (1 Timothy 4:1) Many preach philosophy instead of the word of God. Apostle Paul warned the Colossians concerning Gnosticism thus: “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” (Colossians 2:8) The Pharisees were like that. They knew the law of God and saw themselves as wise people. This supposed knowledge blinded their eyes to the depth of their sins. This is what is stated in the text for today. Anyone who is wise in his own eyes (Proverbs 3:7), rejects the word of God and this means rejecting life and remaining in sin. The only true wisdom is the knowledge of the Most High God. – James 3:17.
