Theme: God Does Not Forsake His People

Text: “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive”. – Ephesians 4:14.

Comment: Because of their innocence and simple nature, children are open minded and easily influenced. However, the Bible exhorts, “Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.” – 1 Corinthians 14:20.

Aware of the merits inherent in spiritual knowledge, it has always been the plan of the devil to keep the world in complete ignorance of God’s word. (Matthew 24:11, 24; Hosea 4:6) However, it is only in the holy mount of God, God’s holy organization, that the veil of ignorance spread across the simple will be cast off, making them wise, by the gospel of the truth. – Isaiah 25:6,7.

To the believers in Corinth, St. Paul wrote, “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.” (1 Corinthians 16:13) It is the knowledge of the truth which confers spiritual enlightenment on one that gives one a firm footing so as not to be swayed about with false teachings, and “be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” It was to this end he termed God’s word as “the sword of the Spirit”. – Ephesians 6:13,17.

Now that we have made contact with the saving gospel, we should be diligent to make our calling and election sure, “for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall”. – 2 Peter 1:10.
