Text: “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” – Matthew 12:36, 37.
Comment: Good Communication or good use of the tongue is essential to help us keep to the Golden Rule. We should be conscious of our words and see to it that they are not “idle words” as we shall be judged by our utterances. (1 Peter 3:10) There are some today, whose stock-in-trade is to slander and make libelous and false reports about others. The Holy Bible says that whatever we say, we would be responsible and accountable to them when the time comes. We should therefore shun hatred, malice and wickedness and all vices that engender strife and enmity among people. Scripture warns: “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers…” – Ephesians 4:29, 31, 32; Colossians 4:6.
