Theme: Fortitude
Text: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” – Romans 8:35-39.
Comment: This is a popular text from an epistle by Apostle Paul in which he stresses the importance of being strong in the Lord in all circumstances. We would recall that Job was tempted by the devil using his wife when she advised him to “curse God and die”. (Job 2:9) This ungodly advice came to Job from somebody very close, his wife. It was temptation within temptation. If he had heeded his wife’s voice, God forbid, he would have lost everything in the end, including salvation. See 1 Corinthians 10:12; Deuteronomy 6:12.
