Theme: BUILDING NEW JERUSALEM

Text:  “And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.” – Genesis 2:15

Comment:  It is the plan and will of God that man should be useful in his service by way of working to subdue the environment in line with His will. The question we have to answer individually is: of what use am I in the building of New Jerusalem? “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them”. (Ephesians 2:10)  The growth of the Kingdom is said to be like the growth of the mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof”. – Matthew 13: 31, 32.

St. Paul listed the criteria for identifying women who should be seen as truly supporting the work to be if she is “Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints’ feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.” (1Timothy 5:10)   He then exhorts us generally thus: “This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.” – Titus 3:8.
