Theme: THE SECRET OF TRUE PROSPERITY

Text: “Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amaziah. And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper”- 2 Chronicles 26:1, 5.

Comment: All who seek the face of the Lord and practise righteousness steadfastly, by contributing their time as well as their mental, physical, spiritual and material resources to God’s service will be  blessed. It was our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who stated: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things (including good health, spiritual and material blessings) shall be added unto you.” – Matthew 6:33.

Now that we have the strength and ability let us draw near to God and run away from unrighteousness. Isaiah the prophet stated: “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye   upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” (Isaiah 55:6,7) Such ones who serve God with honest minds will be rewarded by Him in due time. “With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.” (Ephesians 6:7, 8) When Uzziah violated the law of His Maker, having become intoxicated with power, he was stricken with leprosy and died in that condition. (2 Chronicles 26:16 – 23) Moreover, those  who want the work of God to prosper will be prospered also themselves . – Psalm 122:6,7.
