Theme: WE SHALL ALL REAP WHAT WE SOW

Text: “His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins. He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.” – Proverbs 5:22, 23.

Comment: The promotion of Daniel in the Kingdom of the Medes and Persians aroused envy in the hearts of some of the princes and presidents who then conspired to have him killed. Their evil intentions made them persuade the King to sign a decree that would not have anyone make any petition to any God or man except the King, failure of which would result in been thrown into the den of lions. Daniel refused to obey such godless decree and continued his devotion to God by praying three times daily as was his custom. (Daniel 6:1-10) Consequent upon Daniel’s refusal to obey such godless decree, he was thrown into the lion’s den, but God shut the mouths of the lions and no manner of hurt was done to him when he was brought out of the den at the command of the King. (Daniel 6:12-23) The lions had a field day of feasting when the conspirators and their families were ordered, by the King, to be thrown into the den. Such would be the end of those who conspire to do evil. – Daniel 6:24; Psalm 37:12-15.
