Theme: WE SHALL ALL REAP WHAT WE SOW

Text: “Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.” – 1 Chronicles 29:12.

Comment: Of a truth, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” (James 1:17) But Satan, the god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4), sometimes makes things difficult for those given to true worship, while prospering his own – the ungodly. This by no means rules out the fact that, as a Great Provider, “The earth is the LORD’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” (Psalm 24:1) It therefore amounts to ingratitude and utter arrogance for one to attribute one’s material attainment to the work of his own hands. (1 Corinthians 4:7; Deuteronomy 8:17, 18) Unlike the Rich Fool in the parable of Jesus Christ as conveyed in Luke 12:16-21, it is important that we ascribe our fortune or successes to the Almighty Father at all times. – Proverbs 3:5-9.
