Theme: THE SAVING AND HEALING POWER OF GOD ALMIGHTY

Text: “But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.” – Malachi 4:2.

Comment: In this age of Christ’s second presence the promise of God is that He would gradually be giving effect to His promise to heal His people. The title, “The Sun of Righteousness” refers to the role of Jesus Christ as the light of the world, (John 8:12) in enlightening the sheep of God thereby enabling them to turn from darkness to light. (Luke 4:16-20; Ephesians 1:18-23) When our Lord Jesus Christ came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, he did not do many mighty works there because many of the people, inspite of acknowledging the wisdom he displayed, still did not believe in him, being contemptuous of him because they knew him from childhood. (Matthew 13:53-58) A centurion who was well spoken of by the Jewish leaders for his support for the work of God, had such strong faith that he appealed to the Lord Jesus Christ not to bother to come to his house but that he should “say in a word, and my servant shall be healed”.  To this, the Lord responded: “I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.” (Luke 7:1-10) We should therefore exercise faith in God Almighty and be patient and continue to be prayerful so as to be healed by God in His own time, according to His will. – Psalm 34:15-18.
