Text: “And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary.” – 1 Corinthians 12:21, 22.
Comment: A leader should be able to carry everybody along and not despise anyone. A good idea could come from anyone and anywhere. So, anyone who has something to contribute should be given opportunity to do so. The leader’s decision on such ideas – whether good or bad – should be based on fair evaluation. And where such contribution is found not to be useful now, it could be tomorrow. Those who are seen as weak intellectually have things they could do which the strong cannot do. Today’s text says that no part of the human body should be despised even if it seems insignificant. The leader must not relent in his duty to nurture talents and keep them in the fold for the glory of God and the good of humanity. Scriptures say: “He that despiseth his neighbour, sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.” – Proverbs 14:21.
