Theme: FAITH: A WEAPON OF DEFENCE
Text: “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” – Colossians 2:8.
Comment: Since we are faced with many issues in the hands of enemies of truth and righteousness, Christians need more than ever before to be well armed with faith for their defense in the Lord. There are doctrines of the devil being peddled and taught by false teachers to expose and condemn. There are superstitious, idolatrous tendencies and ungodly traditions to contend with. There are vile influences of evil men and the lust of the flesh of pleasures of sin to resist (Galatians 1:14; 4:8, 9). And there are Satan’s snares of materialism and dangerous philosophies of men to guard against and avoid. With implicit faith in God, once can be able to wade through the evil machinations and wiles of the devil by His grace and power. – 2 Samuel 22:30; Matthew 21:21,22.
