Theme:
DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS TO THE VOICE OF GOD
Text: “And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness. And Pharaoh said, Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go.” – Exodus 5:1, 2.
Comment: The recalcitrant disposition of Pharaoh ensnared him and led him to challenge God Almighty. Pharaoh, as king over Egypt, did not humble himself in the way he reacted to the instruction of God. As worshippers of God, we should humble ourselves and hearken to His voice always so as to be exalted by Him, “Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.” – 1 Peter 5:5, 6.
