Theme: THE SIGNIFICANCE OF A GOOD PERSONAL IDENTITY

Text: “Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou wast not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! When thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; and when thou shalt make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.” – Isaiah 33:1.

Comment: Some people make themselves judges over others and tale-bearers, sniffing faults, and passing derogatory remarks to bring them down psychologically, make society malign them, and reduce their self-worth. Scripture states, “there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.” (Ecclesiastes 7:20); “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) They fail to see their own faults which testify against them. (Matthew 7:3-5) It is the prerogative of God Almighty to render vengeance upon sinners, and to have mercy on whomsoever He will. (Isaiah 55:6-8; Romans 12:19-21) God does not mark the sins of man, but forgives that He may be feared. (Psalm 130:3, 4) We should forgive others before asking God for forgiveness (Matthew 6: 14, 15) Jesus Christ told the woman caught in adultery, “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” (John 8:11) Such sins, once forgiven by God need not be mentioned anymore. – Isaiah 1: 16-20.
