Theme: THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Text: “And he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship.” – Exodus 35:31.

Comment: After revealing to Moses the pattern of the Tabernacle, God Almighty filled Bezaleel and Aholiab and other “wise-hearted men” with the Holy spirit that imbued them with special skills such that whatever Moses described to them they were able to produce them. This is just one of the earliest instances of the bestowal of special skills and abilities by the holy spirit.  (Exodus 36:1-4) God Almighty still does same today in His Church. He gives gifts or talents to different persons in His holy organisation through His spirit, “for the perfecting of the Saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”.  “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;  To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;  To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another diverse kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.” (1 Corinthians 12:7-11) Those whom the Lord has graciously given gifts or talents to use in glorifying Him must put them to work else the talent would be taken away and given to those who are willing to work for the Lord. – Matthew 25:14-30.
