Text: “And David’s heart smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the LORD, I have sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I beseech thee, O LORD, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.” – 2 Samuel 24:10
Comment: It is a Christian virtue for one to accept his faults and determine not to do such again as David the Prophet in the text under reference did which is an example for us to follow. David himself stated: “For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin. (Psalms 38:18) It is with sincere repentance that one can get forgiveness by the grace of God. (Job 33:27-30; Proverbs 28:13, 14) God Almighty is willing to forgive us, if we are repentant of our sins and don’t return to such sins anymore. – Isaiah 1:18-20. See also Ezekiel 18:30-32.
