Theme: IT PAYS TO SERVE GOD FAITHFULLY TILL THE END

In this theme God, refers to JEHOVAH the Creator and Possessor of the universe, while “to serve” means to worship and do reverence. “Faithfully” has to do with keeping faith; maintaining allegiance; showing a strong sense of duty or responsibility; conscientiousness. The topic “It pays to serve God faithfully till the end” is an exhortation teaching us that as children of God we should devote time, energy, and resources to pleasing our Creator all the days of our lives, despite all the odds, in that true gain or benefit lies in so doing.  “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord” exhorts St. Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:58.

Text: “This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.” – Isaiah 43:21

Comment: God Almighty created man on earth purposely to serve Him and show forth His praise. But this purpose has not been fully met in that man fell from the grace of God and was driven from the Garden of Eden. Since then, the entire human race had been facing continuous degeneration, spiritually and physically.  However, God Almighty has through various means been teaching the people that it is their duty to praise Him. “I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.” (Isaiah 42:8) Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.” – Isaiah 43:7.

Actually, the Almighty has given man two options: either to  choose to do righteousness and be granted eternal life, or to follow iniquity and go to everlasting destruction “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.” – Deuteronomy 30:19, 20.
