Theme: REPENTANCE

Text: “Lest satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” – 2 Corinthians 2:11

Comment: Satan the devil, the arch enemy of God and men, desires and actively works to make men continue in sin without repentance. One of the common tricks of satan is to make a sinner feel that his or her sins are so bad and beyond redemption that one cannot repent of it and be forgiven by God. He therefore creates in the mind of such a person a state of “I CAN’T GO BACK”. This is not true. It is a big lie similar to the type satan told Eve in the Garden of Eden. The truth and reality is contained in God’s reassuring statement through Isaiah the Prophet in Isaiah 1:16-18: “Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; learn to do well; … Come now and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson; they shall be as wool.” God Almighty also says: “But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live…” – Ezekiel 18:21-23 See also Isaiah 55:7.
