Theme: Fruits of the Spirit

Text: “And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.  And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.” – Isaiah 32:17,18.

Comment: Peace is another fruit of the Spirit that the LORD has long promised to give to His people who fear Him. Hence King Solomon says, “When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.” – Proverbs 16:7. It means quietness, calmness, tranquility or absence of conflicts. It is a priceless commodity that everyone desires.  The Almighty Father is a God of peace. (Hebrews 13:20) Scripture states: “When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble…” (Job 34:29). True worshippers of God are expected to “seek peace, and pursue it”. (Psalm 34:14) Apostle Paul knowing the value of peace admonished God’s children, thus: “If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.” (Romans 12:18) We pray for God’s peace to always abide with us in this heightened state of insecurity in the world. Amen.
