Theme: THE WILL OF GOD

Text: “Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good.” – Proverbs 19:2.

Comment: Knowledge which is “the act of knowing about something; general understanding or familiarity with a subject, place or situation” is an essential in anything that man gets himself involved in. When King Solomon made a navy of ships in Ezon-geber, which is beside Eloth, on the sure of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom, the Bible account states that “And Hiram sent in the navy his servants, shipmen that had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.” (1 Kings 9:26-28). God made man in His image and likeness to shew forth His praise. (Isaiah 43:21). Man cannot effectively show forth the praise of God if he does not know who God is, who His Son Jesus Christ is, the purpose of creation and His plan concerning man.

It is therefore the will of God that man should have His knowledge. The knowledge of God is a shield from the false teachings brought about by the devil using false prophets and teachers. Knowledge is a guide to avoid the various snares against morality that is in the world at the instance of the devil. Some there are who even look down at the importance of having the knowledge of God. The Almighty God declared through His prophet Hosea: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” – Hosea 4:6
