Theme: MAINTAINING GOOD WORKS
Text: “For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men. Let not then your good be evil spoken of”. – Romans 14:18,16
Comment: The whole duty of man is to fear God and keep to His statutes. In addition to gaining God’s approval, God-fearing persons will, on seeing our good works, give glory to God Almighty. (Matthew 5:16). However, care must be taken never to go about such good works in ways that would end up denying us of God’s blessing. These may be from acting indiscretionally, (1 Corinthians 10:23) doing it for the praise of men, (Ephesians 6:6) blowing one’s trumpet, (Proverbs 25:27,28; Luke 14:11) or continuing in sin with the hope that our good works will make up for our transgression. – Romans 6:1,2.
May God increase our understanding of His way by His grace.
