Theme: BIBLE PERSPECTIVES ON LEADERSHIP

Text: “Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.” – 1 Timothy 5:20.

Comment: Godly leaders are perpetual threats to sinful conducts. The Bible says: “A king that sitteth in the throne of judgement scattereth away all evil with his eyes.” (Proverbs 20:8, 26) Leaders must not make light of sinful conducts among the people as such can affect the organization negatively and incur God’s anger. “Fools make a mock at sin.” (Proverbs 14:9) Leaders of today are required to take to heart that they are also not expected to handle sin of any description with glove hands but rebuke them publicly. (Acts 5:1-11) Public scandalous sinners must be rebuked publicly: as their sin has been made public, and committed before many, or, at least, come to the hearing of all, so their rebuke must be public, and before all, so that “all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness…” – Deuteronomy 13:11.
