Text: “Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day: And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God…” – Deuteronomy 11:26-28.
Comment: In the days of Moses, God Almighty in unequivocal terms assured the Israelites of His constant protection over them. As time advanced, he recalled His words and indicated in clear terms that the choice was either of life or death. He however admonished them to choose life, “that both thou and thy seed may live… that thou mayest obey his voice…” (Deuteronomy 30:19, 20) The only option left for one and all is to trust in God and practice His righteousness. In this connection, Isaiah the prophet declared: “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength: they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31; Psalm 103:5.
