Theme: Prudence

Text: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye, may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For I say through the grace given unto me, to every man that among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” – Romans 12:2, 3.

Comment: A man who is prudent will not conform to the demands of this present evil world. (1 John 2:15-17) In the verse under consideration, Apostle Paul advises us to renew our minds and do that which is acceptable to God Almighty.

To take a firm decision to stand for God and His purpose towards man requires prudence and faith on the part of a believer. To do good is part of renewing our minds in God’s service. Furthermore, a man who is wise in the ways of God will not be arrogant or see himself as being better than others. (1 Corinthians 13:1. Jude 1:16) Rather Christians should be patient, sober and kind. – Proverbs 27:1, 2; James 4:13-17.
