Text: “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God”. – Mark 11:22.
Comment: “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” said St Paul in Hebrews 11:6. Therefore, faith is the confidence that what we desire will be granted by God. Faith also sustains our hope for a better tomorrow which we have asked God in our prayer by His grace. Having prayed to God, it is expected that we should have faith that God will grant us our needs.
Sometimes, not having enough to cater for the basic needs of life, such as food, shelter, clothing, may give one cause for worry and anxiety. But consideration of how God caters for lower animals and plants would allay one’s fear and strengthen one’s faith that God will do even more for us who are created in His image and likeness. – Matthew 6:25-32.
When our expression of faith in God is expressed by the way we accord priority to the work of God and the practice of His righteousness, our needs will be provided for by God Almighty, as attested to by Jesus Christ when he said: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof”. – Matthew 6:33, 34.
