Comment: Whenever grievances or squabbles among people are not settled quickly, such squabbles soon create sharp divisions among them and some may resort to mob action to express their bottled-up anger. Everyone in the opposing side becomes a target. Usually any harm done to one side elicits revenge from the other. Incidentally, each instance of revenge is likely to be worse than the initial action. And the cycle continues. There can be no lasting peace and unity among people plagued by the spirit of religious or political intolerance, bigotry, vengeance, fanaticism, etc. People must learn to live together in spite of their differences. (Roman 12:21) If anyone is aggrieved or offended, such ones should seek redress in a lawful and peaceful manner. Scripture says: “Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.” – Romans 14:19.
