Theme: BE YE WISE AS SERPENTS AND HARMLESS AS DOVES

Text: “Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you?  let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.” – James 3:13.

Comment: One of the indispensible qualities that Christians should have is the wisdom of God. Apart from giving spiritual insight into the word of God, the wisdom of God enables one to imbibe spiritual virtues such as the fear of God, humility, patience, love, etc that makes for peaceful living between and among people. Apostle James exhorts: “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.” – James 3:17,18.

Those who lack the wisdom of God should pray and ask God in prayers and He will give them. – James 1:5. See also Proverbs 2:6,7.

The wisdom of God goes with a lot of blessings from God. The Bible says: “Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her:  and happy is every one that retaineth her.” – Proverbs 3:13-18.
