Text: “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you” – 1 Peter 5:10.
Comment: Persecutions or trials of our faith is not a new thing and definitively do not last forever. In fact, the Scriptures assures us “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13) Knowing this therefore, we must not succumb to the devil’s intention to drag us from the path of salvation through temptations and trials. Already, we should be prepared to weather the storm when faced with any situation that tries our faith. The Scriptures already put mankind on notice as to what is to befall faithful worshippers; “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” – 2 Timothy 3:12.
The devil, persecutes God’s children because he knows that he has just a short time left. And so, he is going about trying to prevent mankind from worshipping the Almighty God and be saved. Scripture warns; “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.” – 1 Peter 5:8,9.
