Theme: PROMOTION

Text: “So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.” –  Ecclesiastes 4:1.

Comment: Allegation are rife that a number of people who deserve promotion or advancement are oppressed and denied justice in certain quarters in society.  Thus, sorrows and disappointments in faces of cheated men and women are everywhere.  Scripture says: “By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.” (Job 35:9)  Some ladies who are performing their duties creditably are denied their rights to promotions or increments because of their refusal to flirt with ungodly bosses or succumb to satisfy their carnal lusts.  Godly married women and spinsters should never give in to the advances of mean, ungodly and immoral bosses.  They should exercise strong faith in God always and wait patiently for Him.  God’s time is the best.  If they remain faithful to God, they shall see the punishment of God upon corrupt bosses who refuse to repent and they themselves will be promoted in the long run.

God hears and sees the cries of those that are oppressed by their employers and has promised to plead their causes by His grace. (Jeremiah 22:3,13 -17;  James 5:4) Dilating on what the Most High will do in regard to unrepentant oppressors, David declared: “He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.” – Psalm 72:4.  See also Psalm 9:9.
